From the Brooder Box to the Backyard
It started with a simple question: where does food come from? So we did what any Sappy Pappy family would do — we got twelve chicks and let the girls figure it out for themselves.
What followed was weeks of early-morning checks, tiny feeders, heat lamps, and the kind of squealing delight only a baby animal can produce. This page is our record of that season.
Connected to our friends at Black Lorax Farm, this project is about raising kids who understand where their food comes from — and who aren't afraid to get their hands dirty in the process.
